Economics Noble Prize winner in 2013 Prof. Robert F. Engle III, will give a general lecture at Airlangga University in Surabaya, East Java on February 20, 2017.

Airlangga University is one of the fourteen universities to be visited by Engle, Airlangga University Rector Prof. M.Nasih said here on Wednesday.

"This is a very rare opportunity for us, and we are ready to organize the lecture," she added.

The rector said Engle will talk about Indonesian economy, including economic instability, conflicts, uncertainties, and challenges.

The lecture by the Noble winner is expected to widen the Indonesian academicians knowledge.

Airlangga University will give an honoris causa title to Engle, who is a professor from Stern School of Business, New York University.

Meanwhile, International Office and Partnership (IPF) Chairperson, Dian Ekowati, said Airlangga University has been selected to host the general lecture because it is the best university in economy.

On January - March 2017, IPF through Bridges Foundation will be organizing the 6th ASEAN event series: Bridges Dialogue Towards a Culture of Peace presenting Nobel Prize winners in peace, physics, chemistry and medical to deliver scientific orations at 14 universities in Indonesia.
