The Embassy of Sweden and the International Peace Foundation recently hosted a reception in honor of HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the International Peace Foundation, and the launch of the 5th ASEAN event series "Bridges-Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace".

The event was well attended by over 100 distinguished guests, including former president of Singapore, SR Nathan. In his welcome speech Ambassador Jevrell spoke about the important work towards peace and democracy throughout the world, and was pleased to note that the upcoming 5th ASEAN event Bridges' series will take place in Singapore, featuring distinguished Nobel Laureates. Ambassador Jevrell especially highlighted the situation in Ukraine and the importance of support to the Ukrainian people. HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein and the Chairman of the International Peace Foundation, Mr Uwe Morawetz, spoke passionately about the series of bridges events that will take place from September 2014 to March 2015, aimed to support education with the overall theme of "building a culture of peace and development in a globalized world", bridging Singapore and foreign perspectives.

The guests also enjoy beautiful piano recitals by the Swedish musician CM Carlsson.
