Nobel Laureate in Economics Praises Cambodian Leader, 22 January 2010

The Nobel Prize winner in Economics in 2007 Prof. Eric S. Maskin has highly appreciated Samdech Techo Hun Sen's political platform, which has developed rapidly the country in all fields.

Prof. Maskin made the remarks here on Jan. 21, during the meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen briefed the professor on the country's situation and the impacts of global economic crisis on Cambodia, Ieng Sophalet, assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters upon the meeting.

In reply, Prof. Maskin said the political platform of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, including school building and human resources training, are the key factor to develop the country.

Prof. Eric S. Maskin is one of nine world famous Nobel laureates and artists who come to Cambodia from November 2009 to April 2010 to give lectures on the culture of peace as part of the program “Bridges – Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace”.
