Datuk Seri Najib Razak came in for praise from American global peace advocate and civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr for ensuring a smooth transition of power. Jackson said he had been impressed by the manner in which the prime minister had taken over from Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
"It indicates that Datuk Seri Najib has shown power through example," he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah Aman at Wisma Putra here.
Jackson said the leadership should lead by example and that the existing social contract was a success.
"Malaysia should be a forefront of dialogue for peace, considering its rich multicultural heritage and makeup.’
Jackson, president and founder of Rainbow/PUSH coalition, was in town for the Second Asean event series entitled "Bridges-Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace" on Monday.
