HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein Visits the Philippines

HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the International Peace Foundation, recently visited Manila to launch the 1st ASEAN-wide event series "Bridges - Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace" starting in November 2007 in the Philippines. He was accompanied by Uwe Morawetz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Peace Foundation.

10 Nobel Laureates to the Philippines
“Bridges" will bring Nobel Laureates for Economics, Peace, Physic, Chemistry and Medicine to various parts of the Philippines including Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. The series of up to 50 major events will continuously take place between November 2007 and April 2008 and will deal with the overall theme of "building a culture of peace and development in a globalized world." The topics will cover a wide range of issues in the fields of politics, the economy, science, culture and the media.

“Bridges" will be hosted through the International Peace Foundation in cooperation with leading Filipino institutions such as the Asian Institute of Management, Ateneo de Manila and Ateneo de Davao Universities, De La Salle University, the Mapua Institute of Technology, the University of the Philippines, the University of San Carlos and the University of Santo Tomas. The program is also supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein is chairman, CEO and board member of different companies in the fields of engineering, investment, trading, banking and consulting. He is also actively involved in various not-for-profit organizations, among others as President and Co-Founder of the Vienna Academy for the Study of the Future, Member of the Honorary Board of the UN Global Youth Forum and Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Science. He published various books including "Management by evolution" and received the International Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award. HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein chairs the Advisory Board of the International Peace Foundation consisting of Nobel Laureates.
